Bristol's newest LGBTQ+ choir

Welcome to our new choir

Bristol EnharmoniQ is Bristol’s newest LGBTQ+ choir!

We started in January 2024 and spent the Spring and Summer preparing for the amazing experience that was our debut appearance at the Hand in Hand Festival at the Bristol Beacon.

We started our new season in September and our first performance will be supporting Bristol Gay Men's Chorus (BGMC) on Saturday 7 December at their Song's for a Winter's Day concert.

So why not give singing in a choir a go? It’s fun and it's good for you! We are open to everyone within the LGBTQ+ community. We are especially keen to hear from people with lower voices who can sing tenor or bass.

Next New Members' Evening:

Tuesday 7 January 2025 7:30pm

Sing with us

Our choir members are part of the LGBTQ+ community and enjoy singing, performing and supporting each other. You don’t need to have sung in a choir before and you don’t need to be able to read music. You only need to be aged 18 or over. We’d love you to come along to a free taster session to see if we are the choir for you.

We rehearse every Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm in an accessible venue in Bedminster.  Membership fees are £30 per month, or £20 per month for those on lower incomes.

If you are interested or want to know more please contact us.

What we sing

We sing a whole range of music, including pop, folk, classical and musical. Some songs will be familiar and others will be brand-new. Some songs will be challenging and others will be much easier. We sing in harmony – sometimes three parts, sometimes more, all singing together. Our musical director provides sound files, scores and lyric sheets for all the songs we learn.

Why our name is ‘EnharmoniQ'

Two musical notes that are the same, but different letters and names, are called "enharmonic". We also have different letters and names, and are sometimes different, sometimes the same, but together we create something stronger than each of us alone: the harmonious sound that is the power of combined human tone. We are also queer and proudly use a Q for the letters we comprise - L, G, B, T, Q or otherwise:

we are Bristol EnharmoniQ.
