Our musical director is Robert Hales. Rob was born in Bristol and learned piano from a young age, he achieved grade 8 and went on to teach adults and children at a music school in Bedminster.
He later found his voice and ran a work choir at Lloyds Banking Group and was an assistant MD of another LGBTQ+ choir. Rob is a songwriter and loves hearing other choirs sing his arrangements.
His goal is for members of Bristol EnharmoniQ to leave rehearsals feeling uplifted from learning and singing together.
Kellie Walters joined Bristol EnharmoniQ in September 2024 as Assistant MD. A classically trained grade 8 singer, Kellie has also played piano (to grade 8 level), bass guitar, flute, trumpet, and harp.
She has been singing in LGBTQ+ choirs since 2011, and spent three years as Assistant MD of Sing Out Bristol. During this time she discovered a love of conducting, and arranging songs for choir, skills which she brings with her to Bristol EnharmoniQ.
Along with an abiding passion for singing, Kellie also loves reading, drawing, crochet, classical music, her cats, and bright colours.
